Investigation
The Career and Education task you will be completing during the next week is designed to help you think about your future in a way you may not have done before.
You probably have heard advice from your friends or your parents or other people who think they have the answers for you. But wouldn't you rather check out your options for yourself? Do you really want the career others might be recommending? You know yourself better than anyone, so you decide what is best for you.
What do you really like to do, whether or not you are getting paid to do it? Does anyone hire people to do these things? If so, can you earn enough money to pay your bills? Would you earn enough to have money left over for the extras you may want to have? What about the unexpected? Does the career you are planning allow you to handle unexpected expenses that are almost certain to come up now and then?
Over the next few days you will use your computer and web browser to search for answers to these questions and many more that you may ask yourself during the process of your investigation. I hope that you will find answers but that you will also ask even more questions to yourself about what you want your future to be.
When your investigation is complete, you will prepare a report about the person you want and expect to be in 2015 after you have graduated from high school and have had a chance to begin putting your plan into operation.
Enjoy your investigation!
